Triumphs For Leona Lewis on the U.S. Charts

Following the trend of breaking worldwide chart records, Leona Lewis on Wednesday became the first British female ever to debut at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 200.

Including first week sales in the U.S. that exceeded 205,000 copies, Leona Lewis' first album Spirit has now passed the 3 million mark internationally. Released in the UK in November, Spirit became the fastest selling debut album in the history of the charts. It spent seven weeks straight at No 1 on the Top 40 list.

One of the songs on the album is "Footprints in the Sand" written by Per Magnusson and David Kreuger together with Richard Page.
